How do we pray today when the Hubble and James Webb telescopes have revealed 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe?

 

Are the Genesis Creation stories incompatible with scientific discoveries, or do these ancient texts help us connect with the ultimate mystery of creation?

 

Would the prophet Isaiah say today "the whole universe is filled with God’s glory!"? (Isaiah 6:6)

By fusing the wisdom of luminaries such as Charles Darwin, Bruce Cockburn, Emily Dickenson, Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison and Brian Swimme with the ancient wisdom traditions of Christianity, Bruce Sanguin writes prayers for the contemporary mystic. When the science of evolution is told as a sacred story, the human heart requires new prayers to express itself. These cosmological prayers awaken the soul to its essential unity with Spirit and creation, and support a Reformation emerging from the conversation between religion, science, and the arts.
