Everyone is delighted with the side chapel that has been set up
in the church next to the courtyard.
More than one person has commented that the wooden table looks
good, and so it should. After languishing in the Narthex for
eight years, it is now restored to its true purpose.
In 1964, it was the altar in the St Columba chapel, part of the
building extension carried on at that time. It can be seen
in the old photograph taken on Harvest Thanksgiving in 1995.
In case you have ever wondered why the wooden chairs used in our
new side chapel do not seem to fit in with the other church
furnishing, it is because they also came from the old chapel, and
were donated as thank-offerings and memorials by parishioners in
the 1960's. The former chapel cross is now behind the main altar. RB
