Today marks the official end of Poppy's seventeen years as Parish Secretary, but not as a member of the parish where she and her family have worshipped for considerably longer.
When the history of Trinity is re-written at some future date, the Price family will feature prominently, not only for Poppy's loving service to the parish, but also for the contribution of daughters Deborah and Colleen to the life of the church and the music programme, and of Bob, who is a past warden and who donated literally hundreds of hours of his professional  expertise to the building of our "new" church.

We wish Poppy well for the future and give thanks for the life & Christian witness of Bob, Poppy, Deborah and Colleen.

The origin of the name Shrove lies in the archaic English verb "to shrive" which means to absolve people of their sins. It was common in the Middle Ages for "shriveners" (priests) to hear people's confessions at this time, to prepare them for Lent.
