A Luncheon Meeting with author Gerry Fostaty ~ Sunday 5^th February at 12:30pm

Trinity parishioner and author, Gerry Fostaty will speak about his book As You Were, the Tragedy at Valcartier. Gerry was an 18 year old sergeant, and one of the first on the scene after a live grenade , wrongly assumed to be a dud, went off during an explosives safety lecture at CFB Valcartier in 1974. Six teenagers died and fifty four were injured. One hundred and forty boys survived. Gerry’s book pieces together the events of that tragic day, the aftermath for those that survived, and the actions or inactions of the Canadian military of the ‘70s. Gerry will speak about the event, his book, and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
